Another Dead Line (Chapter 1) (DaveJade)

You are now Dave Strider, and you are procrastinating.

You are sitting at the edge of Can Town, watching the Mayor build as you get lost in your busy thoughts with your chin on your hand. You really have to figure this out. Who should you take with you to the Alpha Timeline? Someone who can come up with the best tactics, or someone with the most helpful powers?
Then there's that tough decision; John, Jade, or Rose?  They're all your closest friends. You have to pick one. Then there's the trolls. You have to admit you've gotten really close to Karkat in the past years.
Too many choices and possibilities, you think. Maybe you should talk to the Mayor about it- wait.
What if you took the Mayor? He's a cool bro...but then again, what else can he do?

Your thoughts are soon interrupted by an excited Mayor. He is repeatedly tugging at your cape and pointing at a new building he made out of cans. You give him your usual thumbs up of approval. In reply, the Mayor grins and claps with his little firey friend, Serenity flying right by him, flickering with glee.

You still need time to think. You decide you need to talk to Rose.
"Hey, man. I think I'm gonna walk around the meteor for a bit. You keep doing your thing." You give the Mayor a fistbump before leaving the room.

Well, now you begin your search for Rose.
You walk aimlessly until you stumble upon John playing his "daughter" Casey.
"Hey man." You can't help but smirk a little at the purple bow he put on her head.
"Oh, hey, Dave! What's up?" He looks up at you from where he's sitting.
"Nothin much. Looking for Lalonde. Know where she is?"
"Umm...Which one?"
You mentally facepalm to yourself. You almost forgot about Rose's hot mom from another timeline. Platonically hot, of course. If that's even a thing. Of course it's a thing. You just made it a thing.
"Rose."
"Oh! She's with Kanaya in that room with all the bottles and alchemizers."
You nod. "Thanks. By the way...what's with the bowed-salamander?"
John rolls his eyes. "You mean Casey? Well, I thought I'd give her a bow! I mean, she is a little girl. Besides, doesn't she look adorable?"
You had to admit, the bow suited the little lizard. "Yeah, I guess. Anyway, I better get to finding Lalonde now. Later, John."
"Bye, Dave! Good luck!"

Well, looks like you'll be able to hit two birds with one stone. (Of course, you're using that metaphor ironically.) You really need an aj and hopefully by now, Rose figured out a way to make it.
